23 Things Assignment # 8 "YouTube"

My two "YouTube" videos are : "Mr. Bean - Library" and " No Cookies in the Library- Classic Sesame Street". I chose these because I found them very amusing. I think TPL might be able to use YouTube to promote various programs ranging from children to adult.

23 Things Assignment # 7 "Podcasting"

In this assignment I've learned how to subscribed to some podcasts through my bloglines account. I must say that I've learned something new, for I was not aware of podcasting until now. Here are the three that I've subscribed to:

"Virgin Islands Podcast from Paradise" - Alex Randell host for WSTA of St. Thomas.

"Gastrocast- the Podchef's Recent Adventure"- Podchef had very interesting tour while collecting ingredience for the meal.

"Better Speaking Skills- English Drills & Practice"- a good review for all.

23 Things Assignment # 6

"Online Office Tools"

In this week's assignment I learned about a web site called docs.google.com which has a word document tool. This I find very interesting amd may be useful to someone who does not have a Microsoft program on his/her computer.

23 Things Assignment # 5

In this assignment "Tagging and Social Bookmarking" I've learned to use a bookmarking tool called del.icio.us to bookmark web pages, articles that are of interest to me and maybe to others. For this to occur I first had to set up an account in Delicious, then create two links on the computer menu toolbar called "Bookmark on Delicious and My Delicious". It was a bit tricky to save these links at first, but with trial and error and perseverance they were added to the "Links Toolbar". These tools were of importance, without them saving ones favorite article to the delicious account would have been difficult. Once this step was done saving ones favorite becomes smooth as butter.

JIGSAW OCEAN

MAT PAINTING

Torc-waterfall-county-kerry

These are my two beautiful re-creation with the help of the tools in Big Huge Labs.

The second task was to play around with a tool called Generator. With gingerly hands and a worried mind I was able to venture into the unknown of the following generators;
Airline Ticket, Blues Name, and Bacteria name. In Airline Ticket -o-matic, I was able to create a ticket leaving Toronto to Mobay. My Blues name was 'washboard' Violet Robinson, and my Bacteria was 'Haliscomenobactor'. It was a fun in the end.

23 Things Assignment #3

This assignment I've learned about RSS feeds and newsreader and how to subscribe to whatever sources that I might be interested in to my Bloglines account. The ones that I've chosen are "Library Journal News, Blatant Berry Blog, CNN.com-Travel and Gleaner power. My experience in subscribing to each was a bit time consuming and frustrating because I spent so much time looking for the RSS icon in each. Also, when it was time to subscribe to the RSS feeds ie, CNN.com-travel, I had trouble bringing it over to my bloglines account. In the end, with help from my co-worker, we were able to transfer it over by highlighting the email address of CNN, then copy and paste.

On a more positive note, this tool might be very useful for someone who is more internet savvy.
